Stampin’ Up! meets Core’dinations

Yes, essay avoidance or just needing to create something, I think both of these win today's vote! So, making cards, playing with crafting toys = heaven for me. I should watch the film to do with my essay again, I could quite easily have it playing in the background whilst I cut and stick - must remember this for next time :) I have trimmed down a sheet of 12x12 Core'dination cardstock in half so I can make a 6" square card. 20130402_192645 Using an edgelit I have then 'trimmed' off a piece of the front of the card. So that my edgelit was straight I used my trimmer as a guide and used a piece of scotch tape (just a tiny piece) to hold the edgelit down. 20130402_192907 Then just ran it through my big shot.
For a bit of decoration on the back of the card, I've used the simply scored embossing borders to add a bit of a wave. 20130402_194715 20130402_194753 Next, using some of the stitched grosgrain ribbon, I've added this to the 'top' half of the front of the card. Then trimmed down a sheet of dsp from the first edition paper so that it is 6" square and from the piece of core'dinations cardstock, trimmed a small piece off it so that I could add it to the bottom of the dsp to add a bit of weight (stops the card falling flat!). 20130402_200029 If you are not aware of core'dinations cardstock, it has a core so you can sand down the edges - over the embossing parts - to give a great effect. 20130402_202838 I've finished off my card with some punched butterflies (using some scrap dsp) and stamped a sentiment from the sassy salutations stamp set. 20130402_204207

Are you on pinterest? I find it most addictive and is a way of essay avoidance. However, on that front (the looming essay), I have finally got a few words down in 'ink', once again loads of notes which, once again, need to be turned into something that makes sense!

May the crafting mojo be with you :)
