Upcycling Toilet Rolls!

I'm just duplicating posts that I now make on Wordpress to here.  Do head over to my new home :)

So yesterday I had my toilet rolls to make a little mini album but my day ended up being housey stuff and finishing off my TMA for my OU course, so, I didn't get to play.  I'm now at the craft table and raring to go.  I found loads of tutorials on Youtube for these so do take a look at see what others have done.  They are really neat!

I'm using four toilet rolls for my little album. (I have taken off the remnants of toilet paper)

Flatten them and give the edges a good crease with your bone folder.  My roll measure 10.5cm x 8cm.  I cut one piece of cardstock to wrap around the roll add an extra cm to the shortest measurement so have cut my cardstock to 10.5cm x 17cm.

You then just wrap your cardstock around the roll.  I have used the scoring blade on my trimmer to make a nice crisp score.

Then adhere the cardstock pieces to your rolls.  I used the Stampin' Up! red sticky tape for this to make it nice and secure.

Trim the top and bottom if you need to and then you can decorate them.  I have used scraps of dsp from the sycamore street papers and cut them down to 7 x 8.5cm

Then cover each of the rolls:

Using a cropodile I have put holes at the end and using some of the Stampin' Up! real red stitched ribbon   tied the rolls together - you might want to use the binding rings or even the bind-it-all.

I've made some tags (cut to 6.5 x 9cm) and using the owl punch I've made the little tabs.

So there you have it, one toilet roll mini album.

Hope you like it and try one yourself.

May the crafting mojo be with you!
