I thought I would do a feature on a project that appears in the current annual catalogue.  Are you having a wedding yourself or attending one?  There are some lovely stamp sets and accessories to help you make those all important cards right through to invitations and place markers.
I love the simplicity of this card,to make it unusal it is created using the window sheets.  Having dissected this project it looks very intricate yet simple to make and the size is gauged by the size of the sizzix scalloped square die.  If you fancy giving this a go, here is a list of ingredients.

Stampin' up! Time for Tea {shoppe}

I must admit I've not played much with the Tea Shoppe stamp set.  It's one that I got and then went into the cupboard and has come out occasionally.  Although I have made a few cards, these were spur of the moment, needed to make a card quick and so they were made and then went out in the post.  This time, they've come out for leisure!!

I've used papers that are in the print poetry dsp pad and for my card, not sure what you call this type, but I have scored the front in half just to be different for today.
One of the stamp sets that you can get for free with a qualifying spend during Sale-a-bration is the patterned occasions set.  You get five stamps in this set.

I've just stamped these individually onto some remnants of 12x12 that I have been able to turn into some 3" square cards and one 4" square card.  These are a really nice set, and as you can see you can just stamp onto some plain cardstock and there you have it some clean and simple cards.  Another thing you can do with this set is make some neat little gift tags.

Mother's day has come early for me.  I had been eyeing up a little delectable delight on Amazon and you see what happens when you post it on your other half's wall...
This little beauty is the Samsung NX1000 and yes, as you can see, it is pink (this is it without the lens on).  I've got a memory card on order but have been having a tinker with it in the meantime.  Yup, I have been reading the manual, I intend to get to grips with this camera and use it and it's buttons.  Brian has my 'old Canon, I just found it too heavy to have around my neck.  Stupid bones, as I work my way through the day my back and hip seem to feel the effects of gravity a lot more these days!

And so, half term is coming to a close.  The kids have actually given us a good half term, not too many traumas thankfully.  Most of the chickens are fine and finally have gotten back into the swing of laying eggs - I know that Speckles is laying as she was in the egglu earlier today and when I checked before she went in earlier on there were zilch eggs.  Sheila though isn't doing too well, she has a sour crop at the moment and so is being kept an eye on.  Today I made her comfy in the 'food' shed in the straw and mushed up some pellets with some warm water and olive oil. Also upchucked her to see if she could throw up some of the grief that the sour crop causes.  She does look sad but did work her way through her little meal.  I tucked her up in the egglu at bedtime and will just have to see how she goes.
Oh, and Genny dug this out of her school bag - a few days ago - but it's pretty neat :) (it hadn't been in there since December!)
What else, oh, the 5:2 plan.  This has been week one of the 5:2 plan - eat 'normally' for 5 days and for 2 non-consecutive days, you fast.  I must say that I have found this pretty good going this week.  Managed Monday and Friday as my fast days with no probs at all.  On my fast day, my calorie intake is reduced down to 500 for the day.  Weigh in tomorrow morning to see if anything has happened in the disappearing pounds department.

And finally, come March I have spaces in hostess groups to fill so the groups can get started.  I have a Hostess group that runs over 10 months that has a couple of slots available and also a Club 7 and 8 that need someone to take a spot.  If you are interested in spreading out your wish list and on one of the months of the club get yourself some hostess benefits.  Click here for more information on how they work.  If you are interested, you can hit the 'mail me' button that is over on the right along with my other 'follow' buttons.

That's it for now, I am off to read about androids and electric sheep :)

May the crafting mojo be with you!

Stampin' Up! and electric sheep!

Don't you just love butterflies?  Stampin' Up! have a super punch, the elegant butterfly.  I just wanted some plain and simple cards and these have not taken that long to make.  I've just used old olive and soft suede cardstock, running the soft suede through the vintage wallpaper and honeycomb embossing folders.  I punched out some butterflies - leaving room to then punch these out using the circle, scalloped circle and a decorative label punches.  I found it easier to do the butterflies first and then the 'outsides' (trial and error!).

The sentiments are from the curly cute stamps and the ink is the new gumball green.

Elegant butterfly 127526 £14.25
Scallop circle 6cm - 118874 £15.50
Circle 6.4cm - 120906 £15.50
Decorative label 120907 £15.50
Vintage wallpaper embossing folder 120175 £7.50
Honeycomb embossing folder 129378 £7.50
Paper from the print poetry dsp stack 129312 £6.25
Gumball green ink 126861 £4.95
Curly cute stamps 120510 £13.95
Dimensionals foam pads 104430 £3.25
Stitched grosgrain ribbon, wild wasabi 126873 £4.50

I've started to read the next (not quite next but next in my scheme of things) book for the A300.  Having read a few books now for this course, I am looking at books in a different light.  Before this coruse, I would read a book, get stuck in and involved in the characters but now it's not only doing that but looking at the wider picture, the underlying story to the story itself.  So I will see what Philip K Dick has in store for me.  As you may know, the book was adapted into a film, Bladerunner. I've watched Bladerunner a few times and I love the film, I hope that I find the book as enthralling and now with a tweak of the braincells enjoy the book even more.

Hope you have a good day, I'm back to the day job today so I hope I can find my desk!
May the crafting mojo be with you.

Stampin', sticking and pretty nails

I've a few days off over this first half term of 2013, I've not done as much as I hoped I would do but I did finish *that* essay which was one of the things on the list.  I've also, finally, de-stocked the Scraporium and it is now Sarah's Scraporium!  I emptied the virtual shelves and, if like me you make lots of cards and other projects and you find yourself with waaaay too many cards etc that you don't know what to do with them, rather than reinventing the wheel, I have used the back-end so that I have somewhere to sell (hopefully) my cards.  Also, as a Stampin' Up! demo we are allowed to sell some items outside of the usual fulfilment process, so as I have spares as I don't like to run out, I have put them online as it's easy for me to order restocks when I need them.  I've also added retired products and my own  bundles/product shares.  Now, this means that I have to sort through the boxes of cards and get them online for which I need some decent light to take some decent pictures of them all.

I'm now on the third day of the 5:2 way of eating.  Monday was my fasting day and quite honestly I found it no problem, wasn't hungry and had just the four packs of Boossh meals (plus water).  I think that my mind is in the 'right place'.  Yesterday was a 'normal' day and I would have thought that there would have been an urge to binge and to stuff as much as I could into me, but nope, it was just a 'normal' eating day.  Today, Wednesday, is another normal day and my next fasting day is Friday.  I have also been knocking back the water.  It will be interesting to see if there are any results come weigh in on Monday.  All I need is just 21lbs less of me to be in the place where the bones may become less of a perpetual annoyance, plus I need to beat Genny when it comes to using the hula-hoop!

Anyway, another thing on my list was to get some papercrafting done and so far I have made a card!  I don't know what it is with me at the moment, there are plans in my head which aren't spiralling down to become reality!  This one is just plain and simple and I made the little handbag just using scraps and some of the linen thread.  It also has one of the many pinwheels that I have been making using the little pinwheel die that is in the 2013 spring/summer catalogue!
Have you seen the pop up posies designer kit in the new catalogue.  This is one thing that I am playing with. You get lots in the kit to play with.
I've been making toppers so I have a little supply in my toppers box, these are handy if you need a spur of the moment card so all you need to do is pop them on, or even use them as a gift tag.
Do you like them?  These are my nails that Lara did on Monday.  The colour is Casino Royale and they are the OPI gel overlays.
And so, back to the day, for the next part of my Open University course, I am skipping reading Rebecca and the poetry of Frank O'Hara and Allen Ginsberg and heading straight to the 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep' as I am going to use that for the next assignment, TMA5 will not doubt creep upon me and try and bite me on the butt!
May the crafting mojo be with you!

Over at my new home, I have some of my own promotions running - click here to find out more.  These include a product share and also my 'love is in the air' promotion.

I also have a waiting list for hostess groups - I have interest in the hostess group that I run over 8 months and a waiting list for this to start in March.

Enjoy and may the crafting mojo be with you.
